We support organisations and teachers to enhance teaching and learning through technology. Here are just a few examples of our work in this area.
Augmented Reality (AR)
Working with GTA England on a Ufi Voctech-funded project to produce an app for engineering apprentices enabling independent learning and support. Turning any flat surface into an opportunity to learn more about equipment (lathes, milling machines etc.) and tools.
Essential Digital Skills
As part of the ETF’s EDS programme, we designed and delivered a series of webinars to show teachers how they could teach specific areas within the EDS programme, including:
- Becoming a data detective – practical approaches for teaching how to format and filter data
- Creating and editing documents for a purpose
- Teaching digital skills with remote or hybrid delivery
- Topping the charts – practical approaches for teaching how to create and format charts from data
Learning Technologies Support
Within this six-month contract with HOLEX, we delivered national events and webinars to 105 Community Learning and Skills providers. We wrote case studies specific to the needs of HOLEX members and a series of learning technology blogs to help inspire and highlight the practice of practitioners.
Remote learning
Creating bespoke webinars, including three to support GTA England’s members with remote delivery:
- Delivering in a virtual classroom
- From presentation to online lesson
- Making content accessible.
Video learning for engineering apprentices
Developing the digital skills of engineering instructors to produce instructional videos that apprentices could access through QR codes.
Virtual Reality (VR)
Working with First Step Trust on a Ufi VocTech-funded project to support the production of a SMaRT Pathways Virtual Garage, delivering ten modules of learning. Providing training that builds confidence and competence in work-based skills through practical VR delivery.
